It was an honor to be invited to co-edit and contribute to a book about reparations for the descendants of race-based slavery in the United States through Christian perspectives.
Unconventional might be the best word to describe an educational journey from integrating a White Christian school to an MFA in Creative Writing, as a pathway to doing diversity and social justice work for my denomination. It feels as if I have been preparing for this project for a lifetime. I am humbled to read about the work others are doing and my perspective is deepened and refined by the thoughts and reflections in this book.
